Creating Google Shopping Campaigns

A guide for creating new Google Shopping campaigns.

Updated over a week ago

To get started, navigate to the Campaign Manager portion of the Sales & Orders platform, than head into the Campaigns tab.

Next, scroll down to the section headlined All Campaigns. From here, you'll see the +Create Campaign button on the top right of the table. Click it to reveal the different campaign options.

You'll notice there are 2 types of Google campaign options available:

  1. Google Standard - Manual CPC

  2. Google Smart - Smart Shopping

Google Standard Shopping Campaign

Click Google Standard to get started setting up your campaign. This will reveal the campaigns settings menu where you name the campaign, select your country of sale, set a daily budget and set a campaign priority. You can enable Search Partners as well to reach even more shoppers.

The rest of the settings are optional, but if you wish to narrow your targeting to certain locations, set device bid modifiers, or set tracking parameters you can do so here.

When you are finished with your settings, click Save Campaign to finish.

Once your campaign is created, you'll need to add your products. To do so, find the campaign in the All Campaigns table, click on the three dots to reveal the Campaign options, and choose Add Products.

From here, you can choose to add all products to your new campaign, or create filters to segment certain products. Once you've selected the products to add, click Add All Products To Pending Bids.

Finally, head to the Pending Bids tab and click Post All Bids>Yes. This will complete the process.

Google Smart Shopping

Click +Create Campaign>Google Smart to get started.

This will reveal the Campaign Settings menu, where you name your campaign, set your daily budget, and can set a Target ROAS (Return On Ad Spend).

Next, you'll click on Product Groups to set which products will be listed in your new Smart Shopping campaign.

You can leave it set to All Products, or you can narrow your list to certain categories, or subdivisions, by clicking on the + button. Options for subdividing product groups are:

  1. Brand

  2. Category

  3. Condition

  4. Item ID

  5. Custom Label 0-4

Once you've chosen your product groups, and filled in your settings, click save to complete the campaign creation.
