Advanced DIY Maintenance: Using Google Locations
Advanced DIY Maintenance: Using Google Locations
Updated over 3 years ago

Using the Locations tab for your Google Shopping campaigns, you can quickly apply bid adjustments to control spend in desired regions.

This can be helpful for controlling any wasted ad spend and to assist in Limited by Budget scenarios. It can also be used to find issues in your general location targeting, wherein you may not be excluding territories you do not sell/ship to.

Important: When a region is not directly applied to your Location Targeting, setting a Bid Adjustment in your S&O account will add the region with the applied modifier to it.

  • Navigate to Google Campaign Manager > Locations

  • Start by clicking on the blue percent under the Bid Adj. column

  • Then select whether it is an increase or a decrease modifier

  • Apply the percent value to the modifier

  • Click Set to finalize

For one, you can add bid adjustments at a top level such as Country

By clicking on the blue name of the Country, you can further drill down to deeper levels such as State, City, and even Zip Code.

Simply keep clicking to reach your desired level and then apply your bid adjustments as described above.
