Campaign Manager for both Google and Bing are nearly identical, minus a few exclusive features currently only available in Google Ads.

The following are only available in Google Campaign Manager:

  1. Keyword Performance
  2. RLSA
  3. Locations

Note that when in either Campaign Manager, the channel is indicated by the logo glyph:

Update Bids

As the name suggests, Update Bids is utilized for performing Max CPC bid updates for your Shopping campaigns/ad groups.

Additionally, the section also has options for Creating Campaigns or Creating Ad Groups. 

To access bid updates (including Filtering), utilize the 'Select Campaign' dropdown menu and choose which campaign to work on.

Add Products

While the Update Bids and Add Products tools are similar in design, they can only be utilized for their distinct tasks.

Even though Add Products can also push bids to Google or Bing, it is exclusively utilized for adding products to Shopping campaigns (which requires a bid be applied to each individual product).

Add Products is utilized immediately after Campaign Creation to build the Pure ID-Level Shopping campaigns exclusive to your Sales & Orders account.

Pending

Both Bid Updates and Product Adds require 2-step authorization until changes are finalized and sent to Google and/or Bing.

Once a 'Post' has been made from either the Update Bids or Add Products tools, changes are sent here to the Pending table where you can:

  • Post All: Send all pending changes to AdWords
  • Remove All: Clear the pending table and return to redo product adds or bid updates
  • Search Product ID: When pending changes exist you can search for specific product IDs

The table includes default column headers which can be adjusted using the three-bar dropdown menu in the upper right corner.

Under Actions, you can delete pending changes one-by-one.

Campaigns

The Campaigns tab has two primary components: Performance Chart and Campaign List. Additionally, you may also access the Campaign Creation wizard from here as well.

Import Campaigns will trigger a full sync between your Sales & Orders account and AdWords account but only imports Google Shopping campaigns, ad groups, and data.

Just as with the main dashboard you can also Export a PDF Report and Compare set date ranges. The performance chart can be adjusted the same ways your Primary Reporting Dashboard can with both the Date Range Editor and Metric Dropdowns.

Note that the chart shows data for all imported and tracked Shopping campaigns combined and based on your selected date range.

Your Campaign List table also adjusts based on your selected date range and provides overall performance metrics at the campaign-level.

There are four, additional functions you may utilize:

  • Actions: Allows you to edit settings on individual campaigns
  • Segment: Toggle to show either Device or Network data segments in the table
  • Hide Paused: Don't display paused Shopping campaigns
  • Hide Inoperable: Don't display untracked Shopping campaigns

Negative Keywords

The Keywords tab within Campaign Manager provides access to the bulk Negative Keyword editors for both campaign-level and ad group-level adjustments.

Access either tool by clicking the 'Add' button in either table.

Negative Keywords can be added in either one-off changes or bulk uploads. Simply copy and paste a list of keywords to be added. You can also select specific campaigns or ad groups to add negatives too or select all to add to everything.

Note that you must use proper keyword expressions to ensure your Negative Keyword match types are accurately accepted:

  • Exact: Encase terms in brackets (ie [reviews])
  • Phrase: Encase terms in quotes (ie "reviews")
  • Broad: No encasement required (ie reviews)

Ad Groups

The Ad Groups tab provides a tabular view of ad group performance metrics. Additionally, you may also access the ad group creation wizard.

You may also:

  • Edit ad group settings under 'Actions'
  • Segment by Device or Network to adjust the table view charted metrics
  • Hide paused ad groups from the table

History

Use the history tab to review both Bid Updates and/or Add Products changes made in the past on your account including the account user who performed those changes.

Change history is stored on a 30-day basis.
